Mississippi Roast

One of my family Favorites!! With this recipe you can make a big Sunday dinner or sandwiches on the go. One great thing about this recipe is that most of the cooking is done in the Magical slow cooker. It takes about 5 minutes to prepare and cook. Great for weeknights too. Mississippi toast is more than just a meal; it’s a comforting dish that brings family together, filling the home with a delightful aroma. Give this recipe a try, and you’ll understand why it has become a Favorite in kitchens across the country.
Ingredients:
- 3–4-pound chuck roast
- 1 package Spicy Ranch dressing Mix
- 1 package Au Jus Gravy mix
- ¼th cup Salted butter
- 4-5 Pepperoncini peppers
Instructions:
Spray your slow cooker with cooking spray. I like to use olive oil. We got an oil dispenser and sprayer off amazon for like $ 10 for two total life savers. I haven’t had to buy cooking spray since. (insert amazon link and picture) place chuck roast in the slow cooker and sprinkle with ½ the ranch and ½ the au jus mixes then flip the roast and sprinkle the other half of the seasoning mixes. Add peppers on top. Then comes the bitterness. I like to cut the butter into slices and place it evenly over the top, but you can just plop it in. Cook on low for 8 hours.
There are many ways you can serve this dinner in many ways. We like to serve it with Mashed potatoes and a veggie. With the leftovers we like to make hoagie sandwiches.
Tips for perfection
- Choose the right cut: Chuck toast is ideal for this recipe due to its marbling, which keeps the met juicy during the cooking.
- Customize your heat: if you enjoy a little more spice like we do add more pepperoncini, spicy Ranch dressing mix or even some crushed red peppers to the pot.
- Make it a Meal: add vegetables like carrots or potatoes to the slow cooker for a complete one pot meal. I like to cook the potatoes on the side myself.
